1. General information

1.1 What is this?

The MasterTimer is a tool for actiongames like Unreal Tournament or Quake III. You can use it to get the most of the powerups and other items you want.
You set for each item a timer and configure how many seconds the item needs to respawn. Then you bind a key for each itemtimer that you press each time you pick up the item. The Timer will remember you after the specified count of seconds that the item spawns. You can also specify a second timeperiod, you want to get noticed before the item spawns. With it you can go to the spawn-place of the item and get it surely before anybody else can do. This will give you a powerful help in games with spawning items in a constant period of time.

1.2 Features

- Windows NT and 2000 compatible keyboardengine
- multiple timers
- binding every key on your keyboard for a timer
- sound spawn- and pre-spawn-alarm (for people owning a soundcard supporting wave-mixing of different applications)
- different wavefiles included, especially for Unreal Tournament gamers. But you can add your own wavefiles too
- wave-mixing-system for multiple spawn-alarms at once
- visualization of all timers for players without soundcards supporting wave-mixing of different applications (like CreativeLabs SoundBlaster LIVE!)
- "stay on top" window-function implemented for best view of the visualization mode while playing (there will be a complete new small window in the next version, that wont take so much space while playing)
- log-screen

2. Timer

The Timerlist shows you all your timers you have. You can simple add or delete a timer by clicking right with the mouse on it. Selecting a timer shows you all probierties of it in the "Timerproperties" part. To configure a timer just follow these steps:

1. select a timer in the timerlist or add a new one by rightclicking on the timerlist

2. change the name to the item you want to use a timer for
3. click on the editfield of keybinding and press the key you want to use for the timer
4. check the option "give an sound-alarm when item spawns" if you want to get a sound when the timeperiod is over
5. enter the number of seconds the powerup needs to respawn (just count it yourself in the game you play)
6. choose a wavefile out of the list. These are all the wavefiles in the SOUNDS directory of MasterTimer. If you want to edit or add new wavefiles, just copy it into the SOUNDS directory of MasterTimer and restart the tool. The "?"-button on the right to the list will play the wavefile if you want to check it out
7. check the option "sound-alarm X seconds before spawn" if you want to hear a sound a few seconds before the item spawns to move to the spawnplace of the item
8. enter the number of seconds you roughly need to come to the powerup
9. like point 6. its just the sound for the sound-pre-alarm

To use the MasterTimer just press the ACTIVATE-button on the TIMER tabsheet. Then start or change to the running game and press the defined key for the itemtimer by picking it up. The MasterTimer will notice you with a sound you configured when the timeperiod is over. User of the visualizationmode have to change the game into windowmode. Then activate the STAY ON TOP option and move the toolwindow in the corner you want. For more information read the part about VISUAL.

3. Visual

This page shows you all timers currently running. It is only good for checking your keybindings and soundsettings or for all people not owning a soundcard able to mix sounds of different applications to SEE instead of HEAR when an item spawns. To do so, run your game in windowmode, press the STAY ON TOP button in the MasterTimer and move the window on the position you like (I will add a completly new window that will be very much smaller to see much more of the game). Now change back to the game and play! By pressing a keybinding you will notice that MasterTimer is showing you a countdown for each item. If a countdown is less than two seconds, it shows you a text "SPAWNS!". Always remember that the list is sorted by the seconds the item needs to spawn. So the top shows the item that spawns next, and right to it how many seconds are left.
